The PRCAC reviewed a conditional use permit (CUP) application to replace the Point Roberts transfer-station scale house. A committee member raised multiple technical concerns: the notice showed a different zoning designation than the current zoning on the staff plan, a private access easement to Johnson Road was not shown on the engineering site plan as required, and the public-works yard septic tanks were found by the health department to be leaking and in need of replacement.
A committee member summarized the health-department finding: "That's exactly Which means those need to be done prior to the CUP because anyone else who has a non watertight septic system... You have 30 days to replace your septic tank." The committee moved, seconded and voted to have Brian (committee member) draft a short synopsis of the items and send it to county staff and the Whatcom County Health Department; the motion passed in voice vote.
