After a short presentation by event organizer Susan Carson, the Town of Wilson Creek council approved an event permit application for Run to the Desert, organized by ABATE of Grant County, for Aug. 28–29, 2026. Approval was contingent on receipt of an insurance certificate and a safety/site plan.
The motion was made by Councilmember Kellie Ribail, seconded by Councilmember Shirley Billings, and the council carried the motion to approve pending the required documents. The minutes specify the conditions: submission of an insurance certificate and a safety/site plan to the Wilson Creek Town Clerk before the permit is fully effective.
