The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission approved its proposed meeting dates and locations for 2026 at the Aug. 27 session and delegated to the Director the authority to adjust meeting locations in consultation with the Commission Executive Committee.
Commissioner Scott Merriman moved to adopt the schedule, and Commissioner Michael Latimer seconded; the motion carried unanimously as recorded with Commissioners Raad and Danenberg absent. The delegation is intended to provide flexibility for logistics and site coordination while preserving executive oversight via the Executive Committee.
Staff noted that the Director or designee would coordinate any location changes with the Executive Committee. The Commission’s approval sets the calendar for 2026 but permits administrative adjustments as needed.
