The Spring Branch Independent School District Board of Trustees approved two items in open session following an executive session on March 2, 2026: routine personnel items and an amendment to the superintendent's contract.
Trustee Jennifer Hyland moved "that the Board of Trustees approve routine personnel items as recommended," and Secretary Walker Agnew Jr. seconded the motion; it passed by a 7-0 vote. Later, Secretary Agnew Jr. moved "that the Board of Trustees approve the amendment to the Superintendent's contract," which Trustee David Slattery seconded; that motion also passed 7-0. The minutes record the tally as unanimous for both actions; the published minutes do not list individual dissenting votes.
The votes followed an executive session that President Shannon Mahan said addressed personnel matters, a superintendent evaluation, student privacy issues, security deployment and audits, and consultation with counsel on legal matters including Elizondo v. Spring Branch ISD. President Mahan reconvened the board in open session at 9:13 p.m. and stated that no action was taken while in closed session. Superintendent Dr. Blaine later thanked the Board "for all their hard work." The workshop adjourned at 9:16 p.m.
