Winlock mayor affirms no land-use conflict, outlines ordinance review and public-comment rules

Mayor Victoria Marincin opened the Winlock City Council meeting on Jan. 12, 2026, and told the council and public she ‘‘cares deeply about the City of Winlock, which is why she chose to run for mayor.’’ She said all land-use matters related to her property were resolved with the city prior to filing her candidacy, and that there are no conflicts of interest regarding land use during her term.
Marincin also announced several housekeeping items intended to increase transparency and public access. She said the council will review ordinances at the first meeting at which they are presented and consider adoption at a subsequent meeting so the public has time to review proposed ordinances; she specified that public comment for agenda and non-agenda items will be combined and limited to five minutes per speaker. Marincin said she is donating a computer for use in the Mayor’s Office and encouraged community attendance at a Winlock Cardinals home basketball game against Adna.
