District announces several administrative hires, including new Scotts Mills principal

Superintendent Kim Kelson updated the board on administrative staffing changes across the district, naming several recent hires and assignments. The packet included the announcement and Kelson described each new hire's background and role for the upcoming year.
"Taryn Wold has been moved over to the Robert Frost Elementary building, and she's really excited about that position," Kelson said, adding that Taryn is "a really dynamic administrator who makes a huge difference for kids." Kelson also introduced Joseph Traeger as an assistant principal at the high school and Rachel Ayers as the new principal at Scotts Mills Elementary, noting that Ayers will serve 0.6 as principal and 0.4 focusing on special education duties.
Board members asked whether parents had been included on interview teams; Kelson answered that she had two parents participate in the Central Hall/Prattham interviews and thanked Kelly Strong and Becky Craig for their involvement. The superintendent also noted James Rise will be returning to the district and posted to Central Hall and Prattham.
The board expressed appreciation for the hires and for the interview teams that helped select candidates.
