Elementary staff outline attendance 'yellow zone' tracking and behavior incentives

Alicia presented elementary updates and described a new attendance initiative focused on students in a so-called "yellow zone" (85–90% attendance). She said staff will track those students longitudinally and pilot monthly "tiger assembly" incentives so students who achieve 90% or higher in a month receive a commemorative button.
Alicia also reported a spring dip in behavior metrics and outlined a "Fantast" behavior challenge to encourage improved behavior with visual tracking on school walls and small rewards. Ross Davis from LBLESD has been assisting the school in analyzing attendance data to identify tier 1/tier 2/tier 3 supports for students who need additional intervention.
The board acknowledged the plans and asked for continued reporting of outcomes as the new incentives and tiered supports are piloted.
