The board spent a substantial portion of the meeting celebrating student accomplishments across extracurricular programs. Rosemary DeWitt introduced the high school bass fishing team and named students who advanced to regionals and state and noted two teams qualified for an invitation-only angler-of-the-year event. Coach Joanne Guilford outlined the bowling team's district championship, listing individual students who qualified for regionals and state and noting that Bailey Washington placed sixth at state.
Calen Durnan, an ag science teacher, presented an extended list of FFA honors and noted that Royce City FFA is the largest chapter in Area 5 and serves more than 700 members from grades 3 through 12. He detailed degree recipients, state proficiency awards, team placements and an ag mechanics scholarship that included a $16,000 award and a live-auction sale that raised $6,500 plus add-ons.
