The Sartell–St. Stephen School Board unanimously approved the 2026-27 preliminary budget during its June 15 regular meeting.
The motion to "APPROVE THE 2026-27 PRELIMINARY BUDGET" was made by Chelsea Thielen and seconded by Emily Larson; the board recorded a roll-call vote with all members voting yes. Director of Business Joe Prom had earlier presented the district finance report and detailed recent cash activity across funds, including checks of $1,186,325.82, receipts of $9,593,701.87, and wire transfers totaling $2,255,573.36.
Board members said the districts staffing and fiscal outlook were stable going into the new year during committee reports. The preliminary budget approval establishes the districts spending and revenue assumptions going into formal adoption and any required truth-in-taxation procedures later this summer.
The board did not amend the budget motion on the floor; the next scheduled board meeting where action items will continue is July 20, 2026.
