School district title search confirms skate park ownership; district offers interim lease

Winlock School District Superintendent M. Jefferies told the council a title search confirmed the district owns both the bus garage and the skate park property. Jefferies said the district is proposing a lease that would allow the City of Winlock to lease the skate park until a long-term arrangement is reached.
Jefferies told council that, in the interim, "the skate park will remain locked until an agreement is finalized." Councilmembers asked about the original funding and installation of the skate park; Jefferies said it appeared to have been funded by the community and that at the time of installation there was a belief the City owned the land.
