PRCAC to ask county council for stakeholder engagement on proposed Title 22 changes

PRCAC members reviewed proposed amendments to County Title 22 that would change notification distances and remove a pre‑permit critical areas report requirement for some building permits. The committee heard that PDS has agreed to hold off on the CAO (critical areas) requirement until stakeholder engagement with industry and communities can be completed.
Ken urged the PRCAC to write to County Council asking that PDS follow the spirit of SB 5290 and involve stakeholders before finalizing changes. The Chair agreed to return to county council on Dec. 3 for the introduction and public hearing and asked committee staff to draft a letter asking for a continuance until community and stakeholder engagement is complete. The taxpayers association's prior unanimous request to withhold the proposed change was noted; members asked the PRCAC liaison (Brian) to author the letter to council.
