The New Castle Board of Works on Aug. 3 approved a request from a community member to hold a fundraiser. A presenter who identified himself as "Garrett, duty calls plumbing" asked for permission to stage the event; the board asked whether city facilities would be needed and a motion to approve the request was made and seconded.
The chair called for a vote and members responded "Aye." In describing the event, the requester said it was "to help raise money for their king or unit." The speaker indicated the group might use its own property and was not asking the town to provide utilities. The board approved the request and moved to the next agenda item.
