Temple ISD honors staff and students for statewide awards and UIL qualifiers

The minutes note the TISD Purchasing Department received a TASBO Award of Merit (one of 84 districts statewide) and the Finance Department received a TASBO Award of Excellence (one of 34 districts statewide). Temple High School sent 26 choir, three orchestra and 31 band students to UIL Solo & Ensemble state qualifiers. Counselor Kristi Burke was named a 2026 Texas A&M University Very Important Counselor. The THS Athletic Department received the Grant Teaff Beyond the Game Team Award (one of 21 in the state), and the Communications Department won five Gold Star, four Silver Star and five Bronze Star TSPRA awards — the most in TISD history in a single year.
The board made these recognitions as formal acknowledgements on the public record; no board action or funding decisions accompanied the awards entry in the minutes.
