Taft ISD bond construction advances; concrete pour, steel delivery and multiple site updates reported

Representatives from the district's construction partners updated the board on Bond 2024 projects at the May 11 meeting. Justin Caskey of SpawGlass reported that concrete pour number seven of eight for rehearsal and dressing room areas is scheduled for May 15, weather permitting, and that steel materials have been delivered to the high school site.
AG/CM representatives gave updates on baseball and softball projects including erection of the concession stand building, tennis court subcontractor review and lighting coordination, theatre audiovisual equipment, and high school furniture design and procurement. The board also received a bond schedule review and preliminary planning steps for a proposed new elementary school gym, including plans to assemble a design team and proceed with bidding.
