The Pompano Beach Emergency Medical Services District met immediately after the city commission on Sept. 22 and adopted an EMS millage rate of 0.5000 and the district's FY2026 budget.
Budget Director Josh Waters (S9) explained the millage "remains unchanged from fiscal year 2025" and said the increase in revenue reflected in the district totals is due to higher property valuations and rising EMS costs. The resolution states the EMS millage of 0.5000 "represents a 7.99% increase in property taxes when compared to the rollback rate of 0.4630," per the notice in the packet. The adopted EMS budget totals $32,164,940.
No public input was offered on the EMS items and the board voted to adopt both the millage and the EMS budget by roll call.
