Pompano Beach adopts FY2026 millages and $430.6 million city budget

The Pompano Beach City Commission adopted final millage rates and its fiscal year 2026 budget on Sept. 22 after a presentation from the city's budget director.
Josh Waters (S9) told the commission that "revenues for all funds are estimated to be approximately $462,800,000" for FY 2026 and that the general fund budget is $243,600,000. Waters said the commission's adoption of a lower operating millage reduced ad valorem tax revenue by $575,087. He summarized the millage proposal: "the aggregate millage rate operating in in EMS, 5.7181 is a 5.15% increase compared to the rollback millage rate of 5.4379," and noted that the EMS millage itself remains 0.5000.
After public input was invited and none was offered, the commission voted by roll call to adopt the millage rates and the city's budget. The resolution before the commission levied the operating millage at 5.2181 and an EMS district millage of 0.5000 and set the citywide budget totals reflected in the resolution.
