Dana Trabwick, facility director for the Horse Park, briefed supervisors on programming, attendance and economic impact. "Over 60,000 people come through our gates each year," Trabwick said, adding that the majority of attendees travel more than 90 miles and many stay overnight, which benefits hotels and local restaurants. She detailed recent events, including national and multi-state competitions and youth educational programs.
Trabwick thanked the county for past support and requested continued consideration of funding where appropriate. Board members acknowledged the park's role in drawing visitors to the county and contributing tourism-related revenue, and they expressed appreciation for the facility's partnerships with local organizations and Mississippi State University.
