Members reported that Mayor’s Wellness Campaign programs — Zumba, Stronger for Life, Mat Pilates, and Mindfulness & Meditation — have begun with good attendance and positive feedback. Committee members agreed to ask the Board of Commissioners to consider making public parks tobacco- or smoke-free and to forward Bogota’s ordinance as an example for the BOC to review.
On Sustainable Jersey (SJ) tasks, the minutes record that Commissioner Mirza had not responded about art tasks that would generate 70 points; SJ may form its own Creative Team to complete those tasks. Harry Menta agreed to work on Green Business outreach. Leslie Olson noted that new business Café Vista is Styrofoam-free and recommended visiting local businesses to check eligibility for Green Business designation.
