Marina overhaul planned: SeaDoc East removed, new docks and dozens of pilings scheduled
Summary
Port Club said SeaDoc East will be removed in September, a temporary ramp installed, and new floating docks and about 24 pilings will be replaced; the project faces Corps of Engineers permitting constraints and mitigation requirements that could affect timing and costs.

Port Club management told the council that marina repair and replacement work is planned for later this year, including removal of the SeaDoc East float, floating in new docks, and replacement of roughly 24 pilings across the marina.
"They are building our SeaDoc East. That will start in our Marina on September 22. So we'll be removing SeaDoc East, which, unfortunately, is where the ramp goes," Diana said. She described steps: temporary ramp installation, moving boats, pulling pilings and installing new pilings and docks.
Diana said Corps of Engineers permits are time‑limited (three years) and that mitigation rules have become more stringent since the original work, requiring removal of about 65 pilings elsewhere in the bay as mitigation to proceed with the current dock program. She noted CDOC East work had cost about $2.2 million and that the pace of work will depend on permitting and funding.
No binding contract awards or financing votes were taken at the meeting; the update was informational and managers said they would seek permit extensions when needed.
