Port Club says plan to sell lots for about 50 single‑family homes will displace RV park
Summary
Port Club management said it plans to sell developed lots rather than build homes directly; the plan will displace the RV park and the conference‑center church use of one site, with predevelopment and lot sales expected to follow—managers estimated '50 plus' lots but did not provide a final count or timeline.

Port Club management updated the village council on a long‑discussed development near the center, saying the organization intends to predevelop and sell lots—rather than build spec housing—and that the RV park will be removed under the existing lease terms.
"It's a single family ... I'm hoping 50 plus," Diana said when asked about the scale of the planned development, describing an approach that would sell lots and leave individual builders responsible for home construction. Diana added the RV park lease includes notice provisions and that the community has been informed that the RV park could be removed as part of the long‑term land plan.
She said the interpretive trail and interpretive gardens will be incorporated into the land plan and that parking/access for the trail will likely come from repurposing a house lot, though a land plan acceptable to staff and the board has not yet been finalized. Diana said a town hall is being discussed, perhaps in September, to review plans with residents before detailed work begins.
Questions from council members and residents focused on whether the development would fall within the South Bay Community Association (SBCA) and how annexation or association assessments might apply; Diana said the plan may avoid inclusion in the SBCA because of historical assessment arrangements but that final decisions depend on buyers or HOA preferences.
