Summary
After reviewing three bids for a heavy-duty dump truck with plow (Allegiance $245,728; Advanced Truck Group $260,325; Freightliner $290,324), Hopkinton council voted to approve the RFP award to Allegiance Trucks; funding had been approved in the CIP budget.

Public Works Director Dave Taswell explained the town received three bids for a combination chassis, stainless-steel body and 10-foot plow. "The 1st submission was from Advanced Truck Group ... in the amount of $260,325 ... the 3rd bid was from Allegiance Trucks ... in the amount of $245,728," Taswell said, and explained staff adjusted Allegiance's bid to make an "apples-to-apples" comparison by upgrading tires and frames.
Councilors discussed fleet age, maintenance issues with older International models and the expected delivery timeline; staff said bodies and warranties can take up to a year and that funding for the purchase was approved in the CIP. A motion to approve the RFP award to Allegiance Trucks passed by council vote.
