Paul Fisher, a member of the Pompano Beach Planning and Zoning Board, read a statement into the record on Sept. 24 defending his ethics and voting history after those matters were publicly questioned earlier in the week.
Fisher said he has served on the board since September 2022 and that "every vote I have casted has been based solely on the evidence presented during the meeting for that specific item." He told the board that where a conflict of interest could exist, it is disclosed to council and reviewed prior to meetings. Fisher described the recent public questioning of his ethics as "inaccurate and without factual basis."
The statement was entered into the public record during board reports; no further testimony or named accusers appeared during the meeting to expand on the claims.
