Code Officer George Marra told the council the office has issued summonses to 376 properties that require court appearances and that the office now has two full-time employees handling property maintenance and housing inspections. "The town has 1,057 rental units, and we are doing everything we can legally to enforce code regulations," Marra said during his report.
During Privilege of the Floor a Monroe Street resident reported ongoing drug sales and a person living in the backyard of 24 W. Monroe. The Police Chief said the department would investigate and the Mayor asked residents to call police when they observe activity. The Mayor directed the Administrator to follow up on the complaint and report back to the complainants. Other public comments included requests for a volunteer thank-you event and planning for Paulsboro Day and a Haunted House; these event items were referred to the Community Betterment Committee.
