At a special meeting Dec. 11, 2025, the Union Grove Independent School District Board of Trustees voted to accept the resignation of Trustee Tim Bower. The motion to accept the resignation was made by Justin Smith and seconded by Michael Potter; the board recorded yes votes from Jody Day, Justin Smith, Tim Turner, Michael Potter, Karey Barbee and Brian Cox, and Tim Bower abstained. The meeting began at 5:00 p.m. in the high school library.
Before the formal vote, board members spoke about Bower's years of service and his commitment to the community. Members thanked him for his service and the friendships that developed through board work. The board adjourned the same evening after completing the agenda.
