Mike Philips, president of the North Caldwell Baseball and Softball Association, asked the council for permission to use the Liberty Park snack stand for the association's March 14–15 baseball tournament and for the spring season. He said the nonprofit planned to sell pre-packaged food and beverages and requested a waiver of the food-license fee; he also asked that the Sunrise Kitchens food truck be allowed to park in the lot during the tournament.
Council members raised no objections to those requests during the meeting and directed staff to process the permits and fee-waiver request through the usual channels. The association's use of borough facilities remains subject to any applicable health and licensing rules and formal permit approval.
