DPW superintendent urges changes to snow rules, parking enforcement and PSE&G coordination

At the Feb. 5 caucus, DPW Superintendent Rich Flynn raised multiple operational issues affecting public works and traffic safety. Flynn said residents were complaining about Station Plaza and requested a meeting with PSE&G about utility poles. He proposed changing snow-plow sides by Grant School and creating a no-parking restriction on Lincoln Avenue between Hackensack and Austin during snow events, which would require an ordinance amendment.
Flynn also recommended implementing fines for residents who shovel snow back into the street and requested clarification on who is responsible for clearing snow from handicap parking spaces. He requested replacement courtroom chairs and suggested temporary storage of Board of Recreation supplies at the Fire Department building while other space is arranged.
