Budget calendar set; board approves treasurer's reports and claims

The county board, acting on a recommendation from the Budget & Finance Committee, approved the treasurer's reports for May 2026, approved all claims as presented, and accepted the six-month reports from the County Clerk, County Circuit Clerk and Sheriff's office covering Dec. 1, 2025–May 31, 2026. All motions carried on roll call votes of 8–0.
Budget & Finance Chair Josh Roe summarized the timeline for the coming budget cycle: "they plan to have all department heads have their budgets to the treasurer by July 10; the treasurer to have the budget to the committee by July 20. Budget hearings will be held August 4 with 20-minute hearing times." Roe emphasized the importance of having board members attend budget hearings so they understand department requests.
