The Board of Education of Independent School District No. 698 voted unanimously May 28 to approve a consent agenda that included updates to job descriptions and at‑will contracts for Carrie Johnson (Food Service Manager), Melanie Skripsky (Secretary/Accounts Payable), Alexa Ruzynski (Library/Tech Specialist and Check and Connect Mentor), Alea Kozumplik (School Nurse/Community Ed/Office Support) and Amanda Peacock (Cafeteria Assistant). The motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Tracy Hutchinson and seconded by Dave Rohde and carried by a unanimous voice vote.
The board also accepted the resignation of elementary teacher Kurt Kunnari, effective June 2, 2026. As part of the consent-item changes, the Food Service Manager job description and contract were revised to specify that the position reports to the superintendent rather than the principal. The meeting record notes approximately 15 people attended in person and one attended via Zoom.
