During the Feb. 10 public comment period, Elliott Sommer asked that the Borough amend its Noise Ordinance to allow occasional overnight noise from snow removal trucks. Councilwoman Johanna Stroever was asked to review the Noise Ordinance for a potential amendment.
Separately, Jeff Ivler spoke opposing a proposed speed-limit decrease on county roads; Councilman Arthur Rees clarified that speed limits on Mountain Avenue were set by Essex County in 1978 and Councilman Kenneth Tilton noted a proposed change discussed was for 35 miles per hour.
No ordinance amendments or formal votes occurred at the meeting; the council asked the appropriate chair to review the Noise Ordinance and report back at a future meeting.
