Council President Anthony Floria-Callori told the governing body on Feb. 10 that the Borough intends to establish an Environmental Commission as an advisory entity and that an ordinance has been drafted for introduction at a future meeting.
Borough Counsel Jarrid Kantor reviewed the types of appointments, terms and qualifications for commission members during the discussion. Several residents had asked during initial public comment whether the commission would be advisory or have law-making authority; the council stated the intent is for the commission to be advisory.
Mayor Raymond said the ordinance would be prepared for introduction at the next meeting. No ordinance number or draft text was read into the record at this session; the meeting minutes record that the ordinance would be prepared for formal introduction at a subsequent meeting.
