Troup ISD approves personnel contracts; Preston Lindsey hire passes with one abstention

After reconvening from executive session at 8:30 p.m., the board acted on personnel recommendations. On the superintendent’s recommendation, Homer Dickey moved to approve a 2026–2027 term contract for Preston Lindsey; Lisa Lewis seconded and the motion carried with six votes in favor and one abstention (Ty Lindsey). The minutes record the vote as 6-1-0.
The board also approved multiple recommended contracts for teachers and administrators, including dual assignment term and continuing professional contracts for Robert Castillo, Jr., Stephen Cooksey, Ryan McInturff, Linda Salgado, David Smith and Sam Wells; probationary term contracts for Traci Pridgen and Travis Goode; and non-certified administrator contracts for Kyndal Brown, Reginald Gossett, and Blake Rowe. That motion, made by Lisa Lewis and seconded by Todd Kelly, passed 7-0.
