55 Main redevelopment application continued to February 2025 for plan revisions

The Borough of South River Planning Board announced on Dec. 17 that it will carry the public hearing for PB-2024-05 (55 Main SR Urban Renewal, Block 151 Lots 1, 2, 2.01, 3, 7) to its February 2025 meeting so the applicant can make additional plan changes in response to professional reviews.
"This application will be carried to the February 2025 meeting," Chair Donna Zammit said. Board attorney Thomas Barlow added that he had spoken with the applicant's attorney and that the applicant requested the continuance to allow for plan additions following the professionals' report. The applicant is required to re-notice the public for the continued hearing.
The motion to carry the item was moved by Nick Giannakopoulos and seconded by Mayor Peter Guindi and passed on a voice vote. The board did not take substantive testimony or a vote on the merits of the redevelopment at the Dec. 17 meeting; the continuance preserves opportunity for public comment at the rescheduled hearing.
The application lists 55 Main Street as Block 151, Lots 1, 2, 2.01, 3 and 7; no new decision or conditions were recorded at the Dec. 17 session.
