Clayton approves Tuesday trash day for Aberdeen; residents raise concerns about manual dumping and snow cleanup

On Feb. 26 the Borough of Clayton approved a request from Suburban Disposal to move trash and recycling pickup for the Aberdeen development to Tuesdays.
Matt Roselle of Suburban Disposal made the request; council approved the change on a motion (Moorhouse/Wolak) by roll call. During public comment April Durham of 36 Maple Street told council "the trash collectors are still manually dumping cans." Durham also raised concerns about snow removal after two storms, saying "the corners were not shoveled." Roselle responded that "the tipper is still being used" and suggested there may have been an equipment malfunction on the truck. Chief Franklin said he and Sue Miller reviewed commercial properties and that remaining issues are being addressed.
Council also briefly discussed allowing a third trash can for residences and agreed to revisit that policy in April. The meeting record does not show an immediate policy change on the third-can question; the trash-day change for Aberdeen was approved at the meeting.
