Union Grove ISD recognizes Lion of the Month students and staff; FFA team claims state title

At its Dec. 8 meeting the Union Grove ISD Board of Trustees recognized Lion of the Month students (Elementary: Kinsley Day; Junior High: Jake Steele; High School: Rachel Potter) and named 'Triple E' staff of the month (Elementary: Tamara Stafford; JH/HS: Samantha Adams).
The superintendent's information report highlighted extracurricular successes: the JH/Elementary district OAP production placed first and Cooper Littlejohn received Top Performer; the State FFA LDE competition in Huntsville produced a state title for the FFA Broadcasting Team and Thomas Navarro placed eighth in Spanish Creed; the Agricultural Advocacy team were state semi-finalists and ranked in the top 24. The minutes also list several upcoming events, including the Safety and Security meeting on Dec. 11 and the Fall Sports Banquet on Dec. 18.
Star students and parents were present for the recognitions recorded in the minutes. The district also noted that 110 guests were served at the elementary Thanksgiving Feast and that 14 students earned chairs or alternates at JH Band All-Region tryouts on Dec. 5.
