Council approves police promotions, a temporary Halloween curfew and introduces Lodge Avenue parking restriction

Council adopted R.25.238 and R.25.239 promoting Ptlm. Andrew Burkhardt and Ptlm. Jacen Abbott to second and fifth class police officer ranks, respectively, with both promotions to begin Nov. 1, 2025. The minutes state: “If approved, this promotion will begin on November 1, 2025.”
The Police Chief’s memos were received and filed; the council approved a temporary lower curfew of 8:00 p.m. for Oct. 30 and Oct. 31 and introduced O.25.28 to restrict parking on both sides of Lodge Avenue. The ordinance to restrict parking was introduced for future public hearing and adoption.
