Council introduces ordinance to allow cannabis manufacturing at 1626 S. Commerce St.

The Borough Council voted on Oct. 14 to introduce Ordinance O.25.27 to allow Class 2 cannabis manufacturing on Block 106.01 Lot 14 after a presentation from Seth Fleming of The Indelible Company. Fleming told the council he would like to purchase 1626 S. Commerce St. and operate a manufacturing facility with hours of operation “from 7am to 5pm.”
Solicitor Maley explained that permitting would require a redevelopment agreement and that the ordinance would be introduced and forwarded to the Borough Joint Land Use Board for its recommendation. Council also adopted Resolution R.25.242 directing the land use board to review the proposed amendment. The motion to introduce O.25.27 carried with Ayes from Council President Thomas, Councilwoman Evans, Councilman Haynes, Councilman Singleton and Councilwoman Turner; Councilwoman Armistead voted Nay.
