Temple ISD honors students and staff; new assistant principal named

Superintendent Bobby Ott used the May 11 board meeting to highlight student and staff accomplishments across the district. Recognitions included Maren Garcia (Baylor TIP, Travis Science Academy); state and national qualifiers from CTE, FFA, robotics, athletics, theater, elementary art and archery programs; and Carly Marshall, a Temple High School junior noted as a top-ranked women's junior golfer.
The board also noted an alumni spotlight for Chief Andrew Flores and named Kasey Woolard as the April Rotary Educator of the Month. In personnel news, Ashley Mercer was introduced as the new assistant principal for Kennedy-Powell Elementary School and sixteen employees were recognized for completing the Aspiring Campus Leadership Academy cohort.
