Temple ISD trustees elect officers, administer oaths for two members

At its May 11 meeting, the Temple ISD board swore in Bre'Layshia Alexander and Shannon Myers and unanimously elected Dan Posey president, Ronnie Gaines vice president and Virginia Suarez secretary for 2026–2027.
Dan Posey was elected Board President of the Temple Independent School District for the 2026–2027 term in a unanimous vote at the board's May 11 meeting. The board first administered the Statement of Officer and Oath of Office to Bre'Layshia Alexander and Shannon Myers for Districts 2 and 7, respectively.
Board members then conducted officer elections: Ronnie Gaines moved, Shannon Myers seconded to elect Dan Posey president; Bre'Layshia Alexander moved, Dawn Cook seconded to elect Ronnie Gaines vice president; and Shannon Myers moved, Ronnie Gaines seconded to elect Virginia Suarez secretary. Each motion passed unanimously, 6-0. Board President Posey confirmed committee assignments and leadership roles for the coming year as part of the reorganization.
