Teacher representative urges trust in educators and fidelity to implementation

During public comment, a teacher who identified herself as both an educator and union representative urged the board to trust the professionalism of district staff and to focus on thorough implementation if the board proceeds with a 5–6 intermediate model. She said the Hanover summary does not oppose the idea and that "any plan implemented with fidelity can succeed" and called for investment in professional development and shared leadership to support students (public commenter).

The commenter described the extra effort teachers already put in outside contract hours and asked the board to consider the district's capacity while supporting the staff who will implement change. Her remarks were met with thanks from board members and closed the public-comment portion of the work session.
