Council approves additional engineering: $52,750 for Wampum Lake dam work and $8,000 for bikeway scope expansion

On March 25 the Borough Council approved consent resolutions that included two engineering authorizations tied to local infrastructure projects.
Resolution 83-2026 authorized T&M Associates to perform additional engineering and permitting services for the Wampum Lake Dam Rehabilitation and Park Improvements Project for an amount not to exceed $52,750. The council’s materials noted that the NJ Bureau of Dam Safety found the Wampum Lake dam lacks sufficient spillway capacity to pass required design storm events and that a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Project Funding grant is part of the funding picture. The Borough’s Chief Financial Officer certified available capital funds for the additional work.
Resolution 82-2026 authorized Change Order No. 1 to ARH Associates for Phase I bikeway improvements along Industrial Way West and Industrial Way East to expand the design limits to include Ash Street, Whale Pond Road and Old Deal Road for an additional $8,000; the change order funds will come from Bond Ordinance 02-2025. The resolutions were adopted as part of a grouped consent motion that carried on roll call.
The emergency temporary appropriations resolution (84-2026) establishing an additional $60,000 in temporary appropriations was also approved to cover interim budget needs prior to final 2026 budget adoption.
