Mayor Charles Simon opened the April 9 council meeting by announcing the borough's proposed 2026 municipal budget and stating, "Municipal tax rate is .687 for 2026." He said the public hearing and adoption of the budget will be held on May 14, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
The council introduced Resolution 89A-26 to formally begin the budget process (motion: Chapes; second: Wolak). CFO Bob Law and Mary Lavelle thanked the Finance Committee and confirmed the budget would be filed with the State that evening. The council did not vote to adopt the budget at this meeting; adoption is scheduled at the May 14 hearing.
