Union Grove ISD board approves budget amendments, accepts $60,000 anonymous donation

At its Feb. 9 meeting, the Union Grove ISD Board of Trustees approved multiple budget and operational actions, including two budget amendments and the acceptance of a $60,000 anonymous donation designated for extracurricular activity accounts.
Trustee Tim Turner moved and Michael Potter seconded approval of Budget Amendment BA2604 to amend administrative salary expenses; the motion passed unanimously. Michael Potter moved and Brian Cox seconded Budget Amendment BA2605 to cover a CTE allocation shortfall; trustees likewise approved unanimously.
The board also accepted an anonymous $60,000 donation with the donor specifying allocations by activity: Baseball $15,000; Softball $15,000; Band $26,400; Elementary $3,600. The motion to accept the donation was made by Kelly Chambliss and seconded by Justin Smith and carried with unanimous votes.
Other business included approval of maintenance salary scales and Accounts Payable/Payroll Clerk salary scales for 2026–2027, and the purchase of an Ag Trailer from National Trailer Source for $64,096.84. All of these items passed by unanimous vote.
These actions were handled on the action agenda; trustees recorded their votes as unanimous on each motion.
