Pitman Public Works honored with New Jersey Governor’s Award for Safety and Health Performance

Mayor Joe Razze opened the Sept. 23 Borough of Pitman Council meeting by reading a proclamation honoring the Public Works Department for receiving the New Jersey Governor’s Award for Safety and Health Performance. Public Works Supervisor Fred Rodi and members of the department attended the meeting to accept the recognition.
The proclamation, Razze said, recognized crews who “demonstrated a strong commitment to improving their safety and health programs, and providing a safe work environment as evidenced by low injury and illness rates.” The council noted the award during routine business and thanked Public Works staff for their service and oversight of recent community events, including Community Appreciation Night.
Council members applauded the department’s operational updates elsewhere on the agenda — including upcoming townwide hydrant flushing and monthly trash drop-off dates — and Mayor Razze later announced that Pitman won 21 awards at the Best of Gloucester County event, thanking volunteers and community organizers for their support.
