Staff noted that a full facility would take years and requested community input on interim options.
Several additional parents and youth athletes described how extreme heat and rain damage equipment and disrupt training. The commission did not vote on a specific funding request but took the testimony for follow‑up with recreation staff; Mayor Hart acknowledged receipt of emails and asked staff to follow up with the families. The public‑comment record shows robust community interest and offers to assist with funding or design work.
