Fire marshal reports software outage, says inspection costs reduced after negotiation

The fire marshal reported a software crash the day of the meeting that limited presentation of prepared year-to-date statistics but said inspectors are continuing field work. "We've been great at the last quite a few for you. Just working on the fire inspections," he said.
He also described negotiating a lower compliance cost for a business with significant violations, saying an initial estimate of about $14,000 to $15,000 was reduced by roughly $3,000 to $4,000 after review. The marshal said that work continues with the business to resolve outstanding violations.
