Council member proposes policy to favor U.S.-made flags

Committee member (S2) reported that a substantial portion of flags provided through a federal program are made in America from American materials and suggested the council adopt a policy to prefer domestically produced flags rather than pursuing an ordinance.
"It was discovered that a good portion of American flags that the federal government flags made in America from American materials," Committee member (S2) said, and proposed the council "adopt a policy" to reflect that preference. The chair invited additional comments and none were raised during that exchange.
Council members did not take a formal vote on a policy at the meeting; the item was presented as a proposed administrative preference for future procurement.
