Waco ISD honors student artists, music educators and community partners

Waco ISD trustees recognized student artwork selected for the Texas Art Education Association exhibition, named 19 No Place for Hate campuses, honored music educators and a community partner who has supported school programs.
The Waco Independent School District Board opened its meeting by recognizing student and staff accomplishments in the district’s fine arts programs. A district staff member said that four Waco ISD student artworks were selected for the Texas Art Education Association’s 2025 exhibition in Houston and thanked fine arts staff and teachers for their work.
The board also announced that 19 campuses earned the No Place for Hate designation for 2025–26 and recognized University High School’s mariachi under the direction of Archie Hatton. The district named Adrian Muskes of Peter Piper Pizza as this month’s outstanding community partner for donations and volunteer service that supported campus events and student incentives. “Keep up the good work, guys,” the staff member said while introducing the students and educators honored that evening.
The recognitions were followed by a round of campus shout-outs and photographs; district leaders said these awards and partnerships reinforce student engagement, arts access and community involvement across Waco ISD.
