"Trustee Herrera made a motion that the Board approve a resolution to disapprove and reject the request by the Waller County Appraisal District to purchase and renovate the proposed facility at 48600 Business 290 and secure related financing," Trustee Maria Herrera said; Trustee Brittany Neel seconded the motion and it passed 7-0.
President William Warren said the board is open to continued dialogue and future consideration if WCAD provides more comprehensive financial data and long-term growth plans. The decision was framed as a pause rather than a permanent denial: trustees supported ongoing conversations but declined to commit the district to the financing request without additional fiscal analysis.
Next steps, as described in the meeting, include continued communication between WCAD and district leadership and potential resubmission with fuller cost and growth forecasts. No formal budget appropriation or financing commitment was approved at the meeting.
