Commissioners OK land-bank Brownfield application and reallocate ACGP funds to Habitat Southeast Ohio

Habitat Southeast Ohio’s executive director, who introduced himself as Kenny Albers, described the proposed scope: build a modular house on a lot the organization already owns (235 Scioto Avenue), complete about 10–15 home repairs averaging roughly $15,000 each, and provide free life-skills training and workforce opportunities through a construction social enterprise that employs people in recovery. “My name is Kenny Albers. I'm the executive director of Habitat Southeast Ohio,” he told the commissioners.
Commissioners and staff said they favored the change because it better fit the grant’s home-affordability mission and would speed expenditure before grant deadlines. The board approved the motion to allocate the ACGP funds to Habitat and instructed staff to work with Habitat and the city to ensure compliance with the original grant conditions and audit requirements.
