The Valley View ISD Board approved the consent agenda April 13, which included the minutes from the March 25 special meeting and multiple student trips recommended by campus administrators.
Approved trips included end-of-year STAAR incentive trips for various elementary grades to Rancho El Mezquital (dates in late April and May), UTSA Spanish Minor orientation to San Antonio, UIL One-Act Play and Color Guard and theater trips to Corpus Christi and Six Flags, and regional academic and band contests (dates and campuses specified in the agenda). Principals Lauri Torres, Marina Leal, Antonio De La Cerda and Manuel Rodriguez were listed as recommending administrators for specific trips.
The motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Jaime Gaona, seconded by Board President Claudia Coronado and passed with four votes in favor and three absences recorded (Efrain Perez, Juan Viveros and Omar Garcia). No trustee questions were raised on the consent items during the meeting.
